Flowable runs on lightning-fast, tried and tested dynamic BPMN, CMMN and DMN engines, all written in Java. It is Apache 2.0-licensed and has a committed community.

After downloading, simply unzip the file and follow the instructions in the readme.html. This has links to the docs and the release notes.
