Flowable again clinched Best in Show at this year’s bpmNEXT, beating off fierce competition from other leading BPM and Intelligent Automation vendors, including Appian, Bonitasoft, Fujitsu, IBM, Kissflow, Red Hat, SAP and Trisotech.

In the conference’s own words, bpmNEXT has consistently been the defining launch pad for the ideas and innovations surrounding technology-led business process innovation. Presentations are not case studies of past successes, but vision statements on where we are going next.

In our presentation, “The Case of the Intentional Process”, we described and demonstrated how using standard-based Case Management to manage process-driven chatbots had enabled our clients to provide intention-sensitive customer engagement.  In simple words, our chatbots could be smarter because they “knew” when they were appropriate for the user’s needs.

This year’s result follows on from winning Best in Show last year, which in turn built on our first attendance at the conference in 2017 that won us the Most Promising award. For us, the focus of the conference on people deep into BPM and Intelligent Automation makes the awards even more meaningful. It’s not about how good is your marketing, it’s about how innovative is your BPM technology.

We are proud to announce that the attendees of the industry-leading bpmNEXT conference 2018 have voted Flowable “Best In Show” for the talk “Making Process Personal” by Paul Holmes-Higgin (Chief Product Officer at Flowable) and Micha Kiener (Chief Technology Officer at Flowable).

This year, bpmNEXT, the definitive showcase of the next generation of Business Process Management software took place in Santa Barbara, California, from April 17 -19.

The annual event, now in its 6th year, is designed specifically for those already deeply involved in Case- and Business-Process Management and wanting to experience the next level – touch it, see it as well as wanting to know “what´s next”. Every year, attendees are polled according to the following criteria: “Best In Show presentations”, “Most Promising” and “Most Innovative”.

The presentation highlighted the opportunities that the case- and business-process management engine Flowable offers to realize most innovative customer engagement by means of a chat solution that integrates messenger tools like WEchat, WhatsApp, Line, Facebook Messenger and others.

Micha Kiener also gave a live demo, showcasing a banking scenario in which a high wealth client wants to talk to his Relationship Manager using the chat app, while a questionnaire has to be completed. Furthermore, the demo shows how to blend a structured process in the unstructured chat using BPMN as well as how to dynamically replace a user decision task with a decision table generated by Machine Learning.
